Chocolate Peanut Butter Spider Web Popcorn Balls

topcook.tomathouse.com

Ingredients:

  • 20 cups plain popcorn
  • 1 and 3/4 tbsp. peanut butter granules
  • 1 and 3/4 tbsp. milk chocolate granules
  • 110 g unsalted butter
  • 2.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows

Preparation:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the popcorn and 1 1/4 cups each of peanut butter chips and chocolate chips. Stir to distribute evenly.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter, sugar, corn syrup, and marshmallows over low heat, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
  3. When the sugar mixture comes to a boil, pour it over the popcorn mixture and stir to coat evenly. Then quickly but carefully form balls of your desired size. Place them in small bowls or muffin tins, spraying them with cooking spray first to help them hold their shape as they cool. Think of it as making snowballs, but don't make them too tightly packed.
  4. In two separate small saucepans, melt the remaining 1/2 cup each peanut butter chips and milk chocolate chips over low heat (or melt in the microwave in two bowls) and drizzle the melted sauces over each cooled popcorn ball.
