Appetizer sauce “Onion marmalade”

Ingredients:

  • 2 large red onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp. l. brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon peeled and finely grated ginger
  • Salt

Preparation:

  1. Pour olive oil into the pan, add the onion, and cook over low heat, covered, for 30 minutes, until golden brown. Add apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, ginger, and salt to taste. Stir and continue cooking until the liquid has evaporated and the sauce has thickened, about 20 more minutes.
