Ingredients:
- 1 ripe avocado weighing 220 g, cut in half, remove the pit and peel
- 4 slices of whole grain bread
- 1 clove garlic, peeled and halved
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil or unsalted butter, softened
- Sea salt flakes, for serving
- Red pepper flakes, optional
Preparation:
- In a shallow bowl, mash the avocado with a fork to form a chunky paste. Season with fine salt and black pepper.
- Toast the bread until crisp. Lightly rub 1 side of each slice with the cut side of a garlic clove; discard. Lightly butter the toasts and sprinkle with fine salt and pepper.
- Spread the avocado puree evenly over the toast and sprinkle the top with sea salt and red pepper flakes, if using.
