Warm dates with blue cheese and prosciutto

topcook.tomathouse.com

Ingredients:

  • 24 large Medjool dates with pits (400 g)
  • 170 g of sharp blue cheese
  • 110 g thin slices of prosciutto (8–10 pcs.)

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C.
  2. Using a small knife, cut each date lengthwise and unwrap it just enough to remove the pit, leaving the flesh intact. Fill the cavity of each date with a small piece of blue cheese and seal it inside.
  3. Cut a strip of prosciutto the same width as the length of each date and wrap it twice, almost completely covering the date.
  4. Place the dates on a baking sheet and bake for about 8 minutes, until the prosciutto is golden brown and the cheese is melted. Let cool slightly and serve warm.

    Note

Look for dried Medjool dates in the produce section of your supermarket; they'll be the freshest.
