Turkey souvlaki in garlic yogurt sauce topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp. l. olive oil
- 4 turkey cutlets
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 tbsp. low-fat plain yogurt
- 1/4 cup grated cucumber
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 8 lettuce leaves
- 8 pitas with pockets (preferably thick and soft)
Preparation:
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of oil. Break the turkey cutlets into small pieces and place them in the skillet. Add the allspice, cumin, and oregano and stir well. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the pieces are heated through.
- Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine the yogurt, cucumber, and garlic powder. Mix well. Place a piece of lettuce on the pita. Place the turkey on the lettuce leaves and drizzle with the yogurt sauce.
