Ghee (clarified butter)topcook.tomathouse.comPreparation:Place 450g of butter in a medium saucepan and place over medium-high heat.Bring the oil to a boil. This will take about 2-3 minutes. Once the oil starts to boil, reduce the heat to medium. A foam will form on the surface of the oil, but it will eventually subside. The ghee is ready when foam appears on the surface of the oil for the second time and the oil turns golden. This should take about 7-8 minutes. The brown milky bits will remain at the bottom of the pan. Carefully pour the butter into a heat-resistant container through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth. Store in an airtight container, ensuring it is free of moisture. Ghee does not require refrigeration and can be stored in an airtight container for up to 1 month. Ingredients: |
