Ingredients:
- 20 slices of white sandwich bread
- 2 cups prepared smoked ham, sliced (about 240 g)
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp. honey
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp pickled cucumber relish
- 0.5 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 3 drops hot sauce, such as Tabasco
- 10 green olives stuffed with red pepper, halved
- Ketchup to drizzle on
- Special equipment: round cookie cutter with a diameter of 6 cm
Preparation:
- Using a 6 cm cookie cutter, cut out circles from the bread. Place them on a baking sheet.
- Place the ham, mayonnaise, honey, mustard, relish, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce in the bowl of a food processor. Season with salt and process until finely chopped. Drop the mixture, 1 tablespoon at a time, onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Roll each portion into a ball.
- Stick an olive half into the center of each ball to form an eye. Place the balls in the middle of the bread circles.
- Drizzle some ketchup around the edges to resemble capillaries. Serve the sandwiches to the kids and pray they don't scream when they see them.
