Preparation:

Get out the corn holders

There are as many ways to cook corn on the cob as there are cooks. Here are our four favorite methods. (Yes, one of them is microwaved, and it's wonderful!) Whether you enjoy boiled corn or are looking for a way to grill it, it's time to get out the oil and holders.

Microwave corn

Microwave whole, unhusked cobs for 3-4 minutes until kernels are tender.

Hold the finished cob firmly with a kitchen towel and cut off the root.

The leaves and stigmas will easily come off the cob.

Steamed corn

Prepare a double boiler or double boiler by adding a few centimeters of water. Bring to a boil.

Shuck the cobs and cut them in half, then place them upright in a steamer, cut side down. Cover and steam for 5-10 minutes, until the kernels are tender (depending on the ripeness of the corn).

Grilled corn

Bend the corn husks down and back, but do not separate them completely from the cob. Remove the silky silk.

Fry until soft

Grill the cobs over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until the kernels are tender and charred in spots, about 20 minutes.

Boiled corn

Place the peeled cobs in boiling salted water and cook for 5-10 minutes until the kernels are soft (depending on the maturity of the corn).

Regardless of the cooking method, the best dressing for corn is salt and butter.
