Alcoholic sweet tea with ginger topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 1 l. ginger ale
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 bunch mint, plus sprigs for garnish
- 3 tea bags
- 1 and 1/2 cups bourbon
Preparation:
- Pour ginger ale into a baking dish. Freeze overnight.
- In a saucepan, combine 4 cups of water, sugar, and mint and bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Add the tea bags and let cool completely, 30 minutes to 1 hour; discard the tea bags.
- Strain the sweet tea into a pitcher and add the bourbon. Chill until ready to serve. Scrape the ice from the ginger ale and strain into a glass. Pour the cocktail and garnish with mint sprigs.
