Ingredients:
Chicken
- 8 chicken drumsticks
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Hot sauce
- 55 g unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup hot sauce
- 1 tbsp. barbecue sauce
Preparation:
Chicken: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Rinse and pat dry the chicken drumsticks. In a medium bowl or zip-lock bag, combine the vegetable oil, chili powder, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and black pepper. Place the drumsticks in the herb oil and toss to coat. Bake the drumsticks on a rack set over a baking sheet (to allow for better heat circulation) until very tender and the skin is crispy, 50 minutes.
Hot sauce: Combine butter, hot sauce, and barbecue sauce in a large bowl.
- Place the drumsticks in the hot sauce and toss until well coated. Place the drumsticks back on the rack in the baking pan and continue baking for another 10-15 minutes.
Note: If you prefer a milder-tasting sauce, combine 1 tablespoon maple syrup, 1 teaspoon hot sauce, the juice and zest of 1 lime, 1 minced garlic clove, and a little salt and black pepper.
